Hi,

I've been reading these forums for a while and found them really useful.
I wondered if I could ask a question?

My husband and I are moving to Auckland in May (hurrah!!!). I have a job offer over there and am applying for a WTR visa as they are an acredited employer. My husband is apply through the family stream based on my visa. I have to write a supporting letter for his application and I was just wondering if anyone had done this before and could give me some pointers of what I need to say.

Thanks very much

I think your husband can just 'catch a ride' on your visa, he can apply for a WTR visa as well, just send his in with yours attached to it. Me and my son got a WTR visa together with my husband's, just because he got one.
My husband did not have to write a supporting letter at all.

Mr Rr had to write a supporting letter for me when I applied for a WP. We did it in the NZIS office (not that this was last minute or anything!!) and were told to put the following;

that we had been married for X years
that we were moving to NZ together
that if I was not successful in finding work he would support me financially and I would not be claiming any benefits / expect NZ to support me

That was about it
