Well we had an interesting trip to Bunnings in Palmerston today.

The kids shot straight round to the play area whilst i wandered to find the bits I was looking for - and found my exit from one of the aisles blocked and suddenly saw a man running past at a frightening speed - the assistant who stopped me said it was the New Zealand rugby team training!!!!!!!!!!!

I whizzed round to the play area and got the boys and we spent a while watching them and chatting to one of the trainers - poor guy he had to explain to me who the New Zealand '7's were!!! :exit

Can't imagine walking into a B & Q in the uk and finding the rugby team training down one of the aisles!! ;)

How cool. I would have been in my element. NZ are joint top at the moment with South Africa, and the next comp is in NZ at the beginning of Feb. :nice1 Shame I'm not going to be there for it though...

As for England training - they're currently third in the rankings, but I'm sure some B&Q training for the full 15s squad would be a great help!

Can't imagine what they are training in a shop for....

Guess the England team practice in a pussy cat sanctuary - coz they are useless and soft touches!

Bit like the England cricket team - and the footy team LOL

Apparently they needed to train and the weather was not right, so they went indoors! It was on the news last night.

The 7s is in Wellington the first weekend in February - it is a fantastic two days of rugby. Everyone dresses up and has fun.
This is the first year I'm going to miss it since arriving in NZ and I'm gutted! I have a wedding to attend instead...
I shall be going to Hong Kong and Adelaide to make up for it though!

What a wierd place to train!! :D Must have been a very sureal experience!!

:) Hubby scored tickets yesterday through work - lucky devil - keeps on to me that it'll be work & that he'll be 'entertaining clients' - yeah-right! Knowing him he'll be entertaining them dressed up as blanket man and downing 10 beers!!

I think my visits to Bunnings might increase if there's a chance of a rugby player running past!! ;)

I LOVE rugby 7's! I'm a die-hard Union fan, but 7's is much faster and more entertaining these days. Strongly recommended if you can get to it.

That means you probably saw Jarek, my partner's nephew :nice1 We found out this morning he had made the NZ 7s team and he was interviewed by TV1 news today :yes

He normally plays for the Auckland rugby B team.

Hope they get some results in Welly :clap
