Hi, I'm new :)
Me and my wife are coming over to NZ early February for a honeymoon and job hunting - if successful, we plan to apply for a work permit.

We are planning to settle in Wellington, and the last three months were (happily) spent on the forums here and other sources, trying to get a feeling for how life will be for us.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone on this site for the heaps of useful information. I can't stress enough how much more confident we feel than what we were a few months ago when the idea first settled in our minds..

We hope to be able to share our own experience in a few months time as well...

It DOES seem that everyone is getting married even around here... but not everyone is going on a honeymoon/jobhunt (thankfully).

Actually the wedding bit is a bit more complicated, as we couldn't have a Jewish wedding (some obscure Jewish law...) and couldn't marry in Israel (since Jews can only get married in a Jewish wedding here :( ) - so we ended up getting the official wedding in Cyprus and only the party here...

On the bright side - We won't have to translate our marriage certificate, since the original is in English..

We will be posting more questions - no doubt about it... we hope for the best!

welcome nimo and ronit. all the best for the jobhunt - wellington is quite vibey I have heard. weather may be a bit weird. but you should adapt to it, I have adapted to the windy, moody weather in AKL. re
