Hello
I am a new member and have found the site very informative and hope you can help me.

My owners are hoping to move to Auckland early April and are very disorganised with everything,

Can you please advise a company to assist with transporting me from Manchester to Auckland- I am a cocker spaniel- and what the procedures and costs are likely to be. I am also worried about where I will live in NZ as most rentals I have heard do not accept dogs.

Any advice?

Hi Whiskey,

I've not had to ship any pets - but Golden Arrow who are based in North Staffs (I think) are highly recommended

If you (or your owners) do a search for Golden Arrow on the forum you should come up with a raft of threads, including costings.

The number for Golden Arrow Shippers is 01 588 680 240 or fax 01 588 680 414. They are based in Lydbury North, Shropshire. - and apparently they don't have a website (but are well established, otherwise)!

Good luck!

Do a search on the forum with the words "dog" and "rental", you'll find several threads. :)

I love your name a lot bud, I knew a couple of your close relatives up here in Canada and they were some intoxicating to be honest with you. Haven't seen them in a while though, all becoz I am not a University student anymore :D ...But that's for another time.

I sure hope you have a great trip to NZ. Take care

Hello whisky

We have a Cocker Spaniel called Pepper - she said to say woof. She flew with Golden Arrow and arrived in Wellington a couple of weeks ago. She travelled really well and was over the flight in a day. She was so happy to see us it was really worth while bringing her just for that reaction. She had been really well cared for and they had even trimmed her feet as they thought it would be cooler for her. Can't recommend them highly enough. The cost to bring her was 1500 pounds :nice1

Hi Whiskey, bark bark

My name is Lucky I am a ten yr old border Collie X, and my nice owners paid £1600 for me to come to NZ with them back in 2005, I was also left with Golden Arrow to be shipped, they were nice to me, and I love it over here.

Rentals are a bit tricky, but a search dog+rental will bring up loads of ideas.

You are a lucky dog, I am not allowed on the pc normally.....

My name is Leo and I came over with Golden Arrow in October.

My owners were very worried about me travelling but the people at Golden Arrow were great, they looked after me for a few days before I could fly out so that my owners could deal with all the packers. I think it cost about £1500.

I was really excited to see everyone at the airpor and the two dogs who flew with Golden Arrow were good company and we were all fine. The dog that flew with someone else was very unhappy as his box was not big enough for him to stand up properly in and he got all stiff and achy.

My owenrs found a fab rental in Auckland (we move out in April!) and the lady was fine with dogs even though it did not say it on the advert. I love walking on the beach and playing in the sea but it does get hot! It is also fune barking at cockroaches...... but my mum says it helps her to spot them if I can see them first.......

Hope you have a good journey...give me a woof if you're around!
