Can someone advise if I apply for a 2 yr WP then I know I need to get medicals but would I need police certificate. NZ website say 2 yrs or more then a police certificate is required. What about if you exactly 2 yrs?

I think you should get it anyway, you are never too prepared.
Why don't you call or write to the NZIS, they are very helpfull, and they should answer your question accuretly.

Hi,

We are due to depart to NZ on 14th Feb, I have the police cert ready to fill out and send off when I apply for PR later on down the line. But it won't come back in time if I do it now, they say it takes 40 days to get the clearance back. Because we intend to get a 2 yr work permit with job offer initially we know we need medicals for more than 12 months and will arrange them when we go to NZ, we will have to get again when we apply for PR but was trying to avoid having to Police certs twice aswell.

The website says 24 months or longer, so if it's exactly 24 months do I need one? becuase if I do, then it's too late to turn around here, or I will not be able to get the visa until I get it, which delays the process in NZ or do I just get 2 x 1 yr permits? after one another

I can confirm that if the job offer WP is for 2 yrs exactly the police certs are not required. Only for more than 2 yrs or PR application.
