Just a quick post as about to go out and sort out school place for my oldest. Just to say we're back in New Plymouth and it's fantastic!!!!!
Feel like i've come home - it's like the last 8 months back in the UK never happened and i've never been away!
Living just minutes from the beach, and it all seems so familiar second time around....no having to try and find my way around, i know where everything is!

I forgot just how beautiful and fantastic this place is - i love it!

I've come home...and it feels great!

Will post more 'useful' info over next few days when i've sorted myself out (Still have no car, school uniforms etc)

Thanks for all of your help everyone!

Thanks everyone

Wow, have i made the right decision or what! (always knew it was right decision, just needed hubby to come round to the idea and even he agrees now it was the right thing).

Can't explain how fantastic it is to come back to the place and just know so much more. You don't realise how much you have learnt in six months until you go away and then return. It all seems so familiar, no big deal. I expected the wobbles, and the settling in period and.....well, nothing, it just feels like i'm back home. The plants are no longer strange, the buildings look just like regular buildings, the cicadas don't sound strange, the sun is just as hot, and everything is as i left it back in May.

Yes we'll have less money coming in each week, but apart from that there are no negatives, and even the money thing doesn't bother me so long as we have grub on the barbie (we've eaten off the BBQ every day since arriving a week ago....and i forgot just how good, and cheap, NZ meat was!!!!!). All we buy is meat, veg, fruit, bread and milk - it's not costing a lot to eat at the moment as veg/fruit is in season so pretty cheap, and the meat is such good value. So i reckon i will continue to be able to afford food on the table!!!

Living a few minutes from the beach is priceless. I've found paradise, and mentally we were so much more prepared this time. We're completely at ease and it feels wonderful. I haven't thought about the UK at all since i've got back...and already i refer to my home here as 'home'

Any one in New Plymouth in future wanting a cup of tea and a bit of good meat on our BBQ - just give me a PM!!!!

Still busy, will give another posting in a week or so!

Still can't believe i'm here!!!!!!!

PS kids loving it too, even my 11 yr old who wasn't so keen on returning. Within hours he said 'i can't believe i was sat there in England trying to make a decision about coming back here, it's brilliant and i feel like i never left the place'!!!!

As for my 8 yr old, she said the thing she most looked forward to about coming back to NZ was 'going to school'. Doesn't that just say it all !!!!

PPS will change my location and signature etc....just need some technical confidence to come my way!
