looking into cost of shipping, not got loads of cash (or loads of furniture anyway)
we think best bet is to take up part of a container end of feb. so any ideas on companies and prices, and if you can get anything smaller than 2o ft to pack stuff into,
basicaly we can either try and sell stuff and buy it again or have about 1500 quid to spend shipping as much as we can over from uk.

Yep, we did part-container load too and it was no hassle, in fact we got our stuff quicker than most and with no MAF inspections or fees at all!

thanks for the response,
none of the websites seem to give any idea of what it might cost, which company did you use?

I actually had to go and look that up - I must have been here far too long now when I can't remember who we used to ship our stuff over!
We used GB Liners (offices around the UK), and they were fab, no complaints either end.

From memory it was around the £1400-1500 mark including insurance.
Good luck.

hiya whereabouts do you live, if its in the south east the we used a company from Thurrock area, just by the dartford crossing. If its of any use to you they are called Crayford Freight, TEL: 01375 383711. We have used them for both full containers and Groupage. Give them a ring if its the right area.

were flexible as we can hire a van and take it anywhere, if it means its a bit cheaper, reckon we could fit everything we want to take into a transit van but we need toget the cost to under 1500.
will check out the links,
thanks

I wonder if Excess Baggage might be something you could use - they are used to shipping smaller quantities... here's their website: http://www.excess-baggage.com/
