I will post an update very soon, but for now, Sarah & I are living VERY happily in sunny Whitianga. Have been here just over a year now, but it really doesnt feel like it.
Nice to see the forum is still well supported :clap

Hiya Timbo and Sarah
How lovely to hear from you. Your ears must've been burning, Mark and I only mentioned you and John (Bubbles) this afternoon and said we hadn't heard from you lately. Good to hear all has gone well for you. Wow, can't believe it's been over a year already. We're coming up to our year. This time last year we were in panic mode, packing up the house and booking tickets etc.
The old forum is really busy these days. Alot of the old faces still around though.
Hope to hear more about your year settling in.

Thanks for the great vibes everyone.
We have had it pretty cruisy so far I must admit.
Arrived, toured for a couple of weeks up North, Sarah was offered a job just before Xmas 05, and we were up and running with work permits on the back of that. Have bought a house (but no boat yet....grrr), getting in loads of walking, fishing and general sight seeing as well as a little camping. In fact I have to go and pack the car ready for a couple of nights in Fantail bay on the Coromandel.

It is absolute hell up here Gil. I suggest everyone gives the Coromandel peninsular a very wide berth to be honest. There is nothing here exept beaches, bush and baches.
In fact, there are only 3roundabouts in Whitianga, and just one set of traffic lights on the peninsular (Kopu bridge) to my knowledge. Why on earth would anyone want to come here. :D ;)
