Hi everyone
I have just landed a part time teaching job in Hawkes Bay, having arrived in my wife's home town in December. A word of advice to everyone considering teaching here- If you have a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education and Training, or a Cert Ed that qualifies you to teach in further education in the UK, start the ball rolling with the NZQA and teaching council as early as possible! That goes for everyone with a secondary B.Ed or PGCE of course, but particularly with the PCET, as it probably won't be recognised as a qualification which would enable you to teach in a school- even sixth form- on a decent salary. Its a bit involved, but if that sounds like you, I'll fill you in with the details.
Everything else here is bloomin' marvellous!
