Last wekend we were down in Wellington for the stockcar team champs. We watchied the racing Friday night and slept in our 'blagged' overnight accommodation - our friends camper van!! On saturday we went down to Wellington and Neil (friends from the uk) wanted to go on the cable car - at the top there is a museum and all the old machinery has been restored and is on display, well it was a shock to see the plate on the side of the machine -
DAVID BROWN GEARS, LOCKWOOD, HUDDERSFIELD. This is the place my Grandad worked all his life and my dad too from the age of 18 till he took early retirement and also my uncle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to take some photos to send back to my dad - he couldn't believe it - here we are 12,000 miles from 'home' and a little of piece of our home town is here in Welly!!!
