Hello all,
Like many I'm sure, I am questioning whether my 'plan' to go to NZ will work.
So, I am asking for your opinions if you have the time as I am going round in circles trying to get a definitive answer. We went to Christchurch to see sister and loved it and have been trying to find a way back.
Here goes...
Taking a HNC/HND in Business marketing and management for 50 points? Add 10 years work experience and my age and sister in NZ, gets 115.
Now, the experience is sales management and will hopefully go with the HND, but does not count as a skilled area.
This leaves probably waiting a long time for application in UK?
We could sell up and go to NZ, but without a skilled job would only get 10 more points for job outside Auckland and may still not get selected - does any job offer (non skilled) mean quicker selection?
How easy is it to get a job on work permit?

Any help will be greatly received, or links to old posts?

Forgot to add...this really can become an obsession
Thank you

you need to be careful with definitions here. "skilled" and "skills shortage" are very different.

i assume sales management is "skilled" in which case you will get points for 10 years work experience and if you got a job you would get points for that too. but it isn't a "skills shortage area" so you wont get bonus points for "6 years experience in an area of absolute shortage"

actually a quick check shows that "sales and/or marketing manager" falls into major group 1 and is a skilled occupation. so a job offer will get you points.

Thanks for the help.
I expect we will sell up and try to get a job before applying, or at least a work permit to gaet more time.
