Ok. i know the majority of this forum are on their way to NZ either on POL,OSL or LTBV. Well me, i am just a trucker and a plain but professional one who is going on a general work visa through a job offer. Unfortunately my employ is not classed as a skill but is in shortage but currently not recognised. Now i have a question for anyone who is going down this route.
Five weeks ago this monday we went down to immigration to submit our application for the visa. We were told that a labour market check would need to be carried out and would take 2 weeks to complete, once this was done then they would start to process the visa, but no time frame was mentioned. Does anybody know what the likely time frame is for a visa to be issued. They took everything from me job offer, evidence, police checks, passports and fee.
Now they also asked what date we were likely to enter NZ? so on the safe side espeicially with the way the housing market is we said Feb 2005, but the guy put down 1-1-05. Do you think they will leave the issuing of the visa to the last minute?????
Hope somebody can answer this as i think the postie is getting fed up with me accosting him on a daily basis.

I'm not sure where you're coming from, but the NZIS website has a page depicting standard time to procure a work visa, depending on what country you're applying for. Hope that helps!
