Great Pics Dan, have to say it though, that was the most crowded I've ever seen an NZ beach... had me cringing though when I saw your lad buried in the sand, I can't stand the stuff....yuk.

Steve - that bit is crowded cos it's only a small area were a hot river flows below the sand. I would say there were only 50 people there, left and right of that miles of golden empty sand and some wicked surf.

Fantastic pictures yet again - thank you :nice1

Can I ask a bit about the trip as it is the same as the first few legs of our holiday plan in March. We want to go Auckland - Coromandel - Tauranga - Rotorua (and then on to Taupo - Hawkes Bay - Kapiti coast - Wellington)

was hot water beach definately worth a visit? - my OH really fancies it but I thought it might be too touristy? Is the water hot?! ;)

Did you stop around Tauranga or just pass through? do you think anywhere in particular in bay of plenty is worth a visit?

And what touristy things in Rotorua were worth doing (paying for!) or not?

Hope you don't mind all the questions and thanks again for posting the photos - its great for us to see and hopefully will help us with some of our holiday plans (beginning to realise three weeks is going to be nowhere near enough!!)

Dan

Those photos are awesome! :p

Seriously though, they are great and thanks again for sharing them with us. It's good to see NZ in all it's glory and helps to keep our spirits up while we're waiting for NZIS.

:yes Great pics. The views at Coromandel are fantastic. Every bend you go around there's something more spectacular. Haven't been for 2 years but made me want to be there now. Maybe if this house sale goes thru we can see it all again in a couple of months. Lucky you lot!!
