:D Just received my passport back with my blue stickers :cheers . Fantastic!!! Now all I have to do is sit back relax and wait until I leave the country. Getting the stickers has made me look into the garage and I cannot believe how much crap I have! I think I may be spending the next couple of months camping at car boot sales
I know I've been very lucky in that I only submitted my ITA in Jan, but I had a job offer and did everything in person, which seems to have helped. I hope all those still awaiting results/ a decision are successful.

I noticed in another thread you're still waiting for your ITA to be approved. I hope they action it soon for you. All the best.

Yeah, congratulations. You only have a garage full?? :laugh. I been up in the loft most of the day, the house is littered with large boxes full of stuff to take to a boot sale, van load outside, and just under 5 weeks to go - GULP
Good luck mate.

So how much faster is this whole process if one gets a job offer?
I wanted to wait to find a job once in NZ (I really need a few months off work) but I don't want to start a new school year here in the US in August. I'd rather have PR by then so that we can move in, say, September, but with the backlog listed as 4 mo+, I don't think that will happen unless I get a job offer.

Christine,
I think I submitted my ITA 8 or 9 Jan. The first I heard from my case officer was 3 weeks later, when I got an introductory letter and was told that my application had been approved in principle. As I'd left my passport and migrant levy form with immigration services its taken just under 2 weks from then to get my passport returned with the stickers.
As I said I did have a job offer. I have to say I've been very lucky, my future (I suppose new) employer new exactly what NZIS wanted in terms of job offer info and my offer answered all of the immigration questions without any input from me. Also my current (ex as of Fri) employer keeps great records of employment history. It includes start dates, courses attended, details of positions held as well as, helpfully qualifications needed to do the job. Therefore I think all of that has helped speed up my application.
I've had a really easy time of it, and I've got the utmost respect for those people who've had to do a lot of research and digging through their employment history, I think if I'd gone through what most seem to have had to ensdure I think I'd be bald by now!

Well done Leeb.
Now all I have to do is sit back relax and wait until I leave the country.
Relax - we've just been through the organised panic to get the house ready for the shippers...
Good luck for the rest of the adventure, enjoy the ride and remember, the louder you scream, the wilder it gets!
