Anyone know where I can get a couple for the world cup? Got to keep the flag flying!
I live in New Plymouth.

LOL - it should be a great contest. I predict sadly though that you'll be able to buy Jonny Wilkinson body parts on ebay next year by the time the southern hemisphere teams have chewed him up :laugh

Come on guys give the bloke a chance :nice1 he got mauled this weekend, in the 6 Nations, and i must say it was great to see him back, but the thought of you kiwi's putting him through the mincer will be horrifying :uhoh but it will be a great world cup never the less. I just wish i could get over to watch it, but it seems the hotels\motels etc are bumping up their prices :-(
No doubt we will have some lively debate in the build up period :-)

Agree - it's going to be excellent - am really looking forward to it.
Am trying to get to some of the build up games at Jade in ChCh when I get over but struggling for tickets at the mo' - anyone got any insider info please? :cheers
Watch out if you're in the stand though for flying pieces of J.W. (arms, legs, ears and the like :laugh :laugh :laugh )

Was that the size of the lip before or after the stitches? Prior to the stitches it looked like another head was growing out of his mouth :D
The excitement has started to build up here amongst the avid rugby fraternity, and a few of my old buddies from the forces are already making plans to watch the matches if they are away on operations, i'll be calling them and having a beer throughout the matches :cheers
I am still amazed after having watched literally thousands of rugby matches, where the blokes come off bloodied and battered, everyone gets together in the mess\bar. :laugh If only the same could be said for football! It was sad to hear this week that an Italian football club lost against their rivals, the fans rioted and killed a Police Officer when explosive devices were thrown.

TFR, good on ya, sing it loud, sing it proud. Great to see such loyalty to your new country. :nice1
Just out of interst, what are the price of the tickets going for out there?
Fay (the OH) is rugby mad as well, we were looking at coming over but the price of accommodation during the matches has sky rocketed for each venue!

Well, the football players tend to do that as well,it is only the idiots who cause the trouble outside and inside that let the game down, although the histrionics from some of the players leaves a lot to be desired, would love to see them on the end of some meaty tackles from some big rugby players.
It is really sad that a policeman has lost his life. It is apparently very political in the Balkans and Italy, with political factions infighting, tagging along to football matches too. Shame.
But as far as the rugby is concerned, I am totally looking forward to getting swept up into it all...

Nonu vs Micheal Owen or Thierry Henry or Wayne Rooney (in fact all three at once!)
- now that's something I would give my right arm to see :)

It felt like we were the only one's singing it at the Millenium Stadium vs Wales last year! (although they were loads of Kiwi loonies who were great!) It was the match where they did the Haka in the tunnel. But when we'd all finished all the welsh cheered us - it was great!
Although, if you were a welsh supporter, the 45:12(I think) thrashing wasn't so enjoyable :laugh
The welsh were brilliant though - really friendly, loads of beer, singing and a fantastic day. Shame the same can't be said about football

TFR, i think i may send that suggestion to the BBC, :nice1 really would be great to see. Hard men on the field :exit I would give any rugby player against those over paid, over pampered whimps. :p
I remember when Martin Johnson played a whole match with a broken nose, DeLallio a broken finger, and Mike Katt had broke a rib and was forced to come off by the ref when he refused to go to the bench. You have a footballer who has a little knock and he rolling all over the fall as if he has been hit by a lorry. I will say it again, WHIMPS. Perhaps the IRB should stop spending money on their high end executives and invest in the players.
Damn, will have to do some serious research on getting to NZ if we can find some decently priced accom.

Did anyone remark at you for wearing england rugby shirt??
My son wore his rugby shirt as it was a present from my dad (rugby's fan). Didn't realise there was England vs All black match on last november which turn into sour...not sure what is the full story, anyone tell me?
Anyway, someone remarked that it was bad idea for him to wear it in NZ at that time  Oh come on, he is only 3, he didn't know what is england rugby all about, he just want to wear it as he picked it! :nice1

Not that I'm aware of. The ABs won fair and square as far, although there were some issues outside the game, but mainly due to the press (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/rugby_union/english/6115638.stm). I'll happily stand corrected if anyone remembers to the contrary...

I think the biggest danger of wearing an England shirt in New Zealand is that the kiwis will laugh at you for supporting (what they see as) a rubbish team! For example – in last weekends Dom Post – the front page of the sport section carried an advert for the Super 14’s saying “Why don’t we let the Pom’s join in the Super 14’s – because then we’d have to call it the Average 14’s” :)

Funny, they were slagging off the cricket team last week also. Strangely gone a bit quiet on that front today :laugh
