We've arrived safe and sound in Welly. :raebanana

all flights we absolutely fine, we flew with Air NZ via Hong Kong. Our baggage was way over, my case was 33.3kg, keiths was 26.5 with another at 16.5, but they all got onto the plane with no extra baggage allowance to pay - lucky us eh?? We also didn't pay any excess with the internal from Auckland to Welly.

When we got to our hotel here in Wellington, it was about 3pm, I lept on the bed to doze for an hour to get up and have some dinner later. I woke at 8.0' clock feeling pleased that we had slept right through, but 27 hours flying does take it out of you. I was ready to have a long awaited bath and get some breakfast. I washed & dried my hair, got dressed, said to Keith, come on, lets go down before they finish serving breakfast at 9 - to which he replied it was 9pm not am... it was still nightime.!!!! guess I should have looked out of the window first ?!??! or he could have told me !!!

We haven't seen much but the hotel room, but are delighted to be here after all this time.

We go to our holiday home later today and my daughter should arrive in a couple of days but is fog bound in the Isle of Man and all the UK I hear...

We will get our vodafone mobiles soon, and if anyone in the Welly area would like to put the kettle on and meet up, send us a PM and we'll give you a call !!

I still can't believe we're here after all this waiting. :raebanana

Congratulations, I'm so glad all of the hard work has finally paid off for you.

Your "morning" story is priceless - I guess you'll still be thinking in UK time for a while yet :)

I know I shouldn't but that was brilliant. Glad you finally made it safe and sound if slightly disorientated. :nice1

Thanks all.

Our first impression was "is this the land of the flip flop" :laugh

We're in our holiday home now in Korokoro, for the next two weeks. My daughter arrives today for the next 10 days. We've not seen much of NZ yet, got ourselves a cheap hire car for the next 30 days, got free broadband at the holiday home (yippee...) and our Vodafone sim cards.

I've got an interview at an agency in Wellington on Friday; she's confident she can find me work (although I'd rather just relax and enjoy the NZ ambiance ;) )

I do have this feeling of we're here on holiday, and Keith has to remind me that we are staying... it's probably because we are just booked into the holiday home for 2 weeks. I don't want to get too much into the holiday mode though - as work will be very difficult :roll

We know the next few months are gonna be tough, but hey, we're here :yes

Looking forward to making a NZ meet.
