My husband and I are from South Africa too. I'm from Durban and he is from Johannesburg however we've been living in the UK for the past 7 years and are just beginning our process of immigrating to NZ.

Hi everybody

I am also from Port Elizabeth. In January, I got a job offer from a university in New Zealand. I'm applying for a talent visa (the university is a special category employer) and am in the process of getting all my SA documents sorted out. Went to the doctor this morning for a pre-medical medical just to see that things are OK. If all goes well, I start in NZ on 1 May.

I hope to be posting more in the near future. Thanks for a great forum.

Welcome fellow south Africans, were fro JHB, we are in the process of sorting out our final preparations for the move, We went for our medicals this morning, I have to go back for another blood test tomorrow but so far things don't seem too bad.

Hi there, hope you make it. Originally from SA (C.Town)too but now in London.
Hubby and I have just decided to buy a plot in NZ and in a few years (when we've earned more pounds and got our B/Passport) apply via skilled work and hope (!!!) we get in.
Interesting reading on the forum. Hoping to move to Marlborough area - not sure about jobs/work there though. Also trying to figure out building costs, and the strange style of houses there though I guess its to do with earthquakes.
