Well where do I start so much has happened since we arrived in Auckland on 25th november, Ill try to keep it brief.

Ours friends met us at the airport and wizzed us off to there house in Mellons Bay (where we stayed until 15th jan) for which we will be eternally grateful as it saved us a fortune in rentals, They introduced us to all their friends which made it very easy for us to just fit right in. It was just like being in another part of england, a really good transition period. The only drawback being that thier friends are now our friends and all are arriving here for the weekend on friday :laugh
There a great bunch and I wouldnt have it any other way, They welcomed us into their homes with open arms and I will be doing the same for them, All be it a tent in the garden for some, cant squeeze 23 into the house.

OH got 2 job offers 1 week after we arrived so it was here or nearer to huntly, so no competition really. So far we hav'nt met many people yet as we have been to busy playing on the beautiful beaches up here, the ocean is warm and the seafood there for the taking, only boogie boarding as yet as like the rest off you we are in the process of buying kayaks and surfboard for the lad,and OH wants a boat and some fishing gear and diving equipment,
at this rate there will be nothing left for a house :)

The house prices in Kerikeri are on a par with Howick so we are going to sit it out until the right house comes along, theres not a lot for sale at the moment, not in our price range anyway.
Just hoping now that the lad gets on ok at school on thursday, he should do there are 10 new kids starting in his year and we know one of them is from another british family that has just moved hear(or so the estate agent tells me).

So all in all, a great location ,fab weather and a good pub in waipapa, cant ask for anymore.

And to all the peeps still waiting for PR and stressing about mildly fatty livers like I did (3 months of rabbit food and total detox :roll )it was never mentioned, but we did have a covering note from the GP saying it was nothing to worry about. And they didnt even want to speak to me in the telephone interview to add insult to injury, after pacing up and down for an hour worrying whether I would say the wrong thing. (which I tend to do.)We received our PR in the post 6 days later .

:cheers
