Just a quickie, where is a good place to purchase curtains, curtain poles, fixings and generally all things curtainy?
Cheers

Do you have a Spotlight, Harveys or Millers up there? They are the best I've found round here... Warehouse does some cheapies too if you've got standard sized windows or a sewing machine! ;)

Thanks Moorf, I'll check.
Which one is the best for getting everything (curtains and poles), and has a good range? A kind of one-stop shop.
Also I was reading your thread about curtains:

Did you find that very thick curtains made a difference in the warmth of a room?
We've got lots of sash windows which have lots of gaps. I wouldn't consider double glazing unless there was a company that could do really good reproductions. I would consider secondary glazing, but I haven't checked if they have that over here, not seen any yet.

Harveys seem to have the best range, but then again you can get poles/curtains and that in Warehouse too....
I went into spotlight once and got so confused...... there was just stuff everywhere! There is also the Curtain (i think) Supermarket, its got pink signs.

Thanks Jub Jub, I don't want to go to more than one shop if I can help it.
Wasn't there a UK Harveys?
It looks like they do a measuring service, so I think I'll give their shop a visit first, but I might use the measuring service if I decide to do a lot of windows.

There is indeed Sal. Every time we go past it, OH says things like "I expect they're closed" or "They need to pull themselves together" :roll
On your advice (Sal's) I went to Harveys to buy a pair of plain cream curtains for our rental and got a reet bargain, double width pencil pleat calico, 72" drop for $49.95 in the sale.
Yes Tia, there is a Harveys in UK, no idea if they are related...

Edit: PS couldn't let it lie, just had a look and they seem to be separate. harveys Furniture and Furnishings UK and Harvey (no 's') Furnishings here

Tia - we've got aluminium framed windows floor to ceiling in most rooms (not double-glazed), and the insulated curtains made a difference immediately, for me it was worth the extra $$'s.
