Just posting about my medical as I thought it might be helpful to some people.

I got the main medical done with my local GP at the Northland Village Surgery. Cost:$175. I was very happy with him as a doctor and the way he asked questions/examined me, but he was not really familiar with the medical and I had to point out a couple of things he'd missed.

I paid just over $160 for the bloodtests and urinalysis at Aotea Pathology on the Terrace. This included the fasting blood and lipids test (so annoyed - after getting my BMI down my waist measurement was a few cm over). The extra cost was an annoyance, but the tests in themselves were no big deal - it involved going there in the morning not having eaten since 8pm the night before (and they open pretty early) and they took a bit extra blood for them.

And would you believe every single one came back in the normal range :nice1 I was so sure there'd be an issue (albeit a minor one) with either blood glucose or iron levels. (Excuse my gloating).

X-ray at pacific radiology on Lambton Quay. Cost $93. It does take them a week to get the results back to you (I understand it is same day if you go up to Newtown) but I was ahead of time and this was more convenient to me.

Thanks for the info! Now that you put the Dr though the process, he can advertise as an immigration medicals specialist :) (He should've given you a discount :p ) This included the fasting blood and lipids test (so annoyed - after getting my BMI down my waist measurement was a few cm over). I'm worried about this, too, as my BMI is in the right range, but my waist isn't...*sigh* dieting again, though, so I hope it's smaller by March :nice1
