Sorry to sound dim, but how do you get certified copies for the Teachers Registration Council? Can you go to any solicitor or does it have to be someone who knows you?

Also, is there anyone who has gone through the Teachers registration process in recent months and can tell me how long it's taking at the moment? I know there was some delay last year or something.

Cheers in advance :nice1

Good Question!!!

I need to know this, too, as my TC items are finally ready for the post (only a month ahead of my ITA, too!!! :( )

I wonder if the person who is a notary can also certify copies?? If so, my bank has a notary who could do this. I think a lawyer will charge and bank will not. :roll

Maybe someone who knows for sure will respond!

:o I can't remember - it was a while ago now I had to do it.

But I know my renewal took around 8 weeks.

I've used both the bank and a solicitor for the copies. The bank was free and the other charged £5 for a bundle of them.

As for the time it takes, I did it over a year ago so not much help I'm afraid. (about a month anyway)

I lived overseas, so what I did was walk into my country's embassy and ask for notarization of my documents which the Council needed.
