Hello good people,

Was wondering if anyone had any experience of this. When we eventually apply for PR (going to NZ on WHV first) we will make a joint application with my girlfriend being the main applicant (is a teacher so has most points, I'm around the 120 mark). We are going to get my GF quals assessed before we go but I was wondering about the potential bonus points claimed for the following questions on the points indicator and whether they will need to be assessed?:

Would your partner have the required English proficiency to qualify as a principal applicant?

Does your partner have a recognised basic qualification?

I have GCSE English Lan (B) and Lit (A) so that's not a problem as I know they accept this.
I also have a BA Hons Degree from Wolverhampton (not in a skills shortage area) so i'm hoping this will do for the basic qual as it is on the list of recognised qualifications.

As we would be applying for PR in NZ and it seems my quals are on the recognised list do will they need to be assessed by NZQA? Or will NZIS just request to see my certificates? I'm not keen on taking everything with me so I'm thinking could I get my quals assessed anyway even if I'm not the main applicant? God im' confused!

Any advice much appreciated. Carter :nice1

if english is your first language then that is sufficient for the english proficiency requirements. if your qualification is on the recognised list then it wont need NZQA for the 10 partners bonus points - the certificate will do.
