Hi there,

I have submitted a previous thread explaining that me and my partner are going into NZ on Visitors Visa. Was unsure whether or not to take all our paperwork with us. We came to the conclusion after some replys that we would be best to send all our paperwork by DHL to a friend, so not to cause too much suspicion at immigration. Although now I have a job offer in writing all set to go when I arrive I will be straight down to immigration to go work permit. So with this is mind are we ok to take our paperwork with us. Or would I still need to send ahead?

Thanks

Cathy

Unless you give them a reason to question your motives for entering the country I just can't see them sifting through your stuff looking for 'clues'.

We brought all our stuff in with us (twice actually). When asked if we were coming to work we said 'No' and that was the only little fib we told. The officer asked us if we had considered it, we said yes but we weren't committed to move just yet.

Has ANYBODY on this forum been subjected to close scrutiny at immigration? Maybe their stories would help you decide .. if there are any.

No, we carried through C.V.'s when we came in on a visitor's visa. Wouldn't worry.

I haven't been scruitinised (but I've also only entered the country on a visa that allows me to work). However, if it's things like CVs you could always email it to a web-based email or keep it on a memory stick to be printed out when you get there - saves it getting dog-eared in your luggage as well. However obviously that can't be done with some paperwork.

Thanks for your replys.

I did post a previous tread about my concerns. But this was before I had a job offer. We had decided to DHL everything, I have quite alot of paper work including, Birth certs, quals, reference, police cert ready to fill out later on.
Bank stats, Landlord refs, pay slips + job offer in writing etc so can't actually store all this on the computer.

Because I have a job offer now but still entering in on Visitors visa would I be more safe? or still subject to questions? I would rather take it all on my person than send ahead. Really unsure as to what to do!!??

Any more advice please we leave next Wednesday :exit

Thanks
