Hi everyone. We're from Kent & selling up,moving over to do EOI there.Hubby, who's a plumber has 20 months b4 the age limit.NZ doesn't appear to have the same age problems as in the UK.Anyway,we're fit & healthy & still think we're kids.To save time, while the sale is going through Steve's popping over on a reccy to Welly begin March & hopefully will get a firm job offer with a view to obtaining a WP.We need as many points for the EOI as his apprentance history doesn't count for much though he has 30+ years exp.I'm gathering as much paper history as possible but can anyone tell me this. Do NZIS really need school details? We've been away from that longer than we were in it & I haven't anything myself. I grew up in Canada & all my reports etc. are long gone. It's nice to on the forum with you wonderful people at last. Vicky & Steve (in swahili they call him Babu)

Hi Vicky
Can't offer any advice I'm afraid as we're still going through the motions and haven't yet kicked off our NZIS part of the process. I wanted to say welcome to the Forum though and wish you every blessing in your plan :)

Hi Victoria,
Just wanted to say good luck! We submitted our ITA about 6 weeks before hubby's 45th (I had already passed mine by about 6 weeks :o), this was July/August 2005. Our PR came through Nov 05 and we only got here Nov 06 after taking a year to sell our house! We have four kids (one of whom has gone back to UK :wah) and have found this to be the best thiong we have ever done.
So, good luck again,
gil

Hey there, I am from South Africa with English as my first language and I do recall NZIS requiring my school cert's or atleast a letter from my school proving that English was the medium of teaching at the school although I have tertiary qualifications in English as well. But with you being from the UK, I would expect NZIS to know that you would speak English as a first language. I think that it would be best to get your hands on some sort of school certs. I am sure the school would keep a record of your last year there - they did in our case.

Hi there and welcome to the forum
I will agree with the other comments that school exams results are really easy to get hold of, you need to contact either the school if it's still there!! or the local education authority, it may be that you won't need them, but if you were to get here and find that you do need them, you will kick yourselves for not having them before you left, my advice would be get everything before you leave and it could save you alot of hassle.
Good luck, hopefully you will be here soon.

Oh thanks for the advice on contacting the authorities. It just hadn't occurred to me to do that. I'll let you know how I got on. The handy thing is that I've been able to contact them (London for hubby & Canada for me) via e-mail. Thanks for all the good wishes . . . what a fantastic friendly lot you are!
