Hi all

We returned from a week camping in Taupo on Monday night, which included the 'Annual Taupo forum meet', and can honestly say we were blown away by it's beauty and amazing landscape. There is so much to do and see in the surrounding area, that it is likely it will become a regular place for us to visit.

Anyway, here are some links you may like to look at:-

Huka Falls (http://tinyurl.com/2x5s5w) - 40 streams & rivers go into Lake Taupo, only 1 goes back out and becomes the mighty Waikato river. At the beginning it goes through some narrow gorges and also Huka Falls

Thermal Area & Hot Pools at Tokaanu (http://tinyurl.com/2zojlk), near Turangi on Lake Taupo, 52km from Taupo. A breathtakingly beautiful place, never saw anybody else whilst walking around, used by Maori for centuries for cooking & bathing. Some pools upto 70degrees

Craters of the Moon (http://tinyurl.com/2a7ouv) - just outside Taupo. Speaks for itself.

Hope you enjoyed these, we certainly enjoyed the experience :nice1

My stupid work computer wont let me look at the phot albums, I can only see the first picture from each link.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

My work have blocked all the fun websites now, so I just get the 404 message. I'll have to look at them later at home. :roll

Great pics Babette. I remember Huka Falls (in the rain) and Craters of the Moon from our NZ visit last year. I love the area around Lake Taupo although we were only there for 3 days and it rained until about 2 p.m. each day. :no

Fantastic photos! Believe it or not my Andy is one of those nut cases who has actually paddled over (intentionally) Huka falls!
