It has been about 2 months after lodging my ITA. Despite all the documents were provided, I got no word from NZIS yet! They say there is no time frame for this process and each case is differnt from the others. Could you please help me by voting to know "in average" how long does it take.
Thanks,
jess

3 weeks between when London received our ITA to when we were approved. We didn't have a job offer. But, that was back in the summer of 2005.

2 weeks from submitting our ITA in person at the Christchurch office to receiving passports with the Residency stickers... that was in early 2005.

We submitted other half's partnership stream application in person yesterday and they said at the moment it will be six weeks until we get a case officer and then 2-4 months to process: 2 months if the application is straight forward and 4 months if there are medical or character issues (and there may be a medical issue for us, so I'm banking on the four months.
They give priority to those with job offers and partner stream, so if your application is neither of those, the current London wait could be much longer than what I outlined.

2 weeks in November 2006 in London for me, with job offer in skills shortage area. And a few anxious emails.

lodge ours 22 jan 2007 got a letter last week saying will hear from case officer soon. 1-3 months depending on any issues. I think London is well behind what with xmas break etc. Immigrations women at work permit keep emailing them to tell them to send to Wellington but they haven't as of yet. So had to send via expensive courier. They took their money within one day though!@!

2 months for us, after applying in Nz and with a job offer. Guess things could have been quicker but we had work permits so didn't hassle them and i guess they knew we were already working on our permits so there wasn't the big rush. We were well happy with 2 months though.

Thanks guys for contribution. As it is clear from the poll, most of you got PR in 2 weeks. Unfortunatelly it has been 2 monthes since my ITA was registered and still no response!! Despite all documents were submitted, permanant job, Highest qualifications,...etc.

I take it you have had confirmation it was recieved, and they have taken the money?
We sent our 22nd Jan and got a case officer this week, but our surname begins with A so maybe they are going through the pile alphabetically Currently in jobs in NZ etc.
Hope its soon for you

im still waiting, have got a case officer and they have confirmed they recieved ITA, put in ITA last week (not long ago i know) but have a job offer and they want me there by end of the month!!!
i emailed london and was told that it would be 1-3 months (even with a job offer with an accredited employer!) so i phoned up on friday to remind visa officer to email me and visa officer was very helpfull and emailed back said he would have an initial look at it early this week to see if all the paper work was ok but he said i would not get visa processed this month which is a bit scary as i dont want my job offer to expire.
having read other threads on this subject i was under the impression that they would try and sort it if you had a job offer and an employer waiting but it doesnt seem like that to me. hopefully will know more in a day or two but it seems like you may have to chase them a bit. I didnt even get an ITA after subitting EOI until a faxed them to remind them i did have a job offer, then i recieved ITA within two days.
I'm working on the principle the only person really intereasted in driving it forward at a faster pace so will politely remind them every few days that my new employer wants me there yesterday, and im just as keen to go!
hope you hear back from them soon
