Can anyone give me an idea of how long the queues tend to be at the Wellington NZIS branch? I know it may vary a lot - I'm just looking for an idea.
ETA: This is for handing in an application, if it makes a difference.

Not very long - if you're just wanting to talk to someone on reception it can vary from no waiting time at all to 10 mins. If you want to see someone then you should get in first thing in the morning & you wait at most about 20-30 mins - take a book & a cup of coffee & the time passes very quickly - usually you get chatting to someone else in the waiting room anyway!!

As Sarah says, queues are relatively short though I have heard (and my own experience mirrors this), processing times for PR applications are a little slow in Wellington.

That's great, what I expected, but I saw a post in another forum about four hour queues (didn't say where) so I thought I'd check.
As long as it can be done in an extended lunchbreak, that's fine with me.

Yep you'll easily do it in an extended lunch-break (I have before) and yes PR applications made here are very slow - they wait until the very last minute - no rush at all.
Probably 4 hour queues in London - went extremely early in the morning so I was called up first there since the queues build very quickly.

I was in London yesterday - one person waiting ahead of me but he stopped to look at brochures so I got the first ticket and was in and out in 25 minutes - and he was still the only person waiting when I left. I wonder if psychologically everyone thought the embassy would be closed on Waitangi Day lol.
No help for you Wellington question, sorry!
