Hi we are Michael and Sarah. We are currently located in Leeds but not for too much longer we hope.
We have been looking into moving to NZ for a couple of years now and spent most of last year sorting out NZQA stuff and getting our EOI done.(135 points but no job offer) Well we have just submitted it this week online and we are both quite nervous about it and very excited. We had looked at this forum before and it has been very helpful so that now we are officially started we thought we had better join.

Anyway, Michael, 38, is a secondary school teacher and Sarah(27) has just nicely finished her degree. We have two children, Jonathan, who will be 16 very soon and Amber who is 7 going on 40. We also have our puppy, Poppy who will be going with us. So I think that the advice here with be extremely useful and everyone seems very friendly.

So really this is just to introduce ourselves and say hi

A very warm welcome to you both. Excuse me for being nosey but I can't help wondering.
You say Sarah is 27 and you have a son of almost 16. This would make Sarah 11 years old when you had him. I can only assume he is not sarahs from birth or you have put the wrong age down.Sorry its just baffling me. Anyway, anything you want to know either search or just ask.Someone will be able to help.

Kindest regards

Dave and Caroline

Welcome to you both. I used to live in Leeds (behind St Jimmy's - great area haha) but am now up the road in Goole.

You've come to the right place for moral support and great advice.

I'm a Kiwi, but I'm still learning great new things on here every day!

Hi there and http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/signs046.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org)

I assume that Poppy is the puppy in the picture. Very nice she looks too.

It sounds like that you have everything under control, but it is a nervy time, so good luck with everything and if you have any questions, try the search funtion at the top of the page, or if you can't find your answer, post the question.

By the way, any idea where you'd like to settle in NZ?

Welcome from us too; ask away, however daft you think your question is, someone will respond, without making you feel the least bit silly for asking!
Good luck,
Carey and family

To Caroline and Dave, You were right in assuming that Jono doesn't belong to Sarah. We actually have one each. J being Mic's and Amber being Sarah's but we view them both as ours.
As for where we want to move to, well somewhere on the South Island but I suppose it depends on where Mic gets a job.

I love that picture of our Poppy. It is just a shame she is no longer that small. We got a quote for shipping her over just so the actual figure when we go will not be a shock and we were quoted around 2300 pounds!

To Wiki, we don't live in a much better area than Lincoln Green. We are in Beeston!

Welcome Mick and Sarah! Pity you not noticed but we having a meet tomorrow in Warrington, it is our farewell and flag signing, but there are loads of like minded people coming along. Would have been good for you to chat to others.

Probably a bit late to drop everything now. I think there are some people going to be keeping them going, so maybe the next one eh?

Good luck in your move

Welcome guys! Where in the South Island are you looking to move to?

Hmmm Beeston - having murky memories of a club called the Black Orchid?! Am I showing my age?!!
