No idea about Christchurch but there is one near us, so at least they must be around.

Suggest you try google again with laundromat as it shows a few around Christchurch.

Ohhh---so sorry to hear about your washing machine.
It must be something in the air--ours developed major problems this weekend--yep, EXACTLY one year and a couple of days after we bought it.

I bought another one on TradeMe

I had several on my watchlist that didn't sell and they have sent me some low fixed offers. I am not sure if they have been scooped up by other watchers but if you are interested in me forwarding to you---just PM me with an email address.

Good luck finding a laundromat--I haven't ever seen one and wondered myself if they have them in NZ??

...
Did you buy it in NZ as it may well be covered by the Consumers Guarantees Act?

I know there is one on Fitzgerald, near Gloucester or Worcester.

There's a self-service, coin-operated laundry place at the corner of Warrington St and Barbadoes St when I used to live in Edgeware. Had never used them though.

My favourite laundrette sign above the washing machines was "Please leave room for the water"
(Sorry, that's not helping you in your search, is it?)

We spent ages driving round trying to find a launderette less than 2 weeks ago.....half the ones in the yellow pages seem to have closed down. We did find one eventually on the corner of Fitzerald and Worcester (maybe Gloucester) that seems to be frequented by people in campervans and motor homes.....it has a car park right outside too which made life easier.
