Default Giving BACK blue stickers

Thats right, our PR has to be activated this month, due to wonderful credit crisis we lost far too much on our house so can't risk the move currently. Plans are to use our measly remains to buy a house that needs some TLC at a good price and wait a couple of years, if we still have the bug to move then attempt 2 will be made. Not seen a thread like this, but as we have paid the immigrant levy already, I need to sort out getting it back, will wait until the PR has run out completly to ensure some mad moment does not come around where we sell one of the kids or win the lottery, but will then apply for the money back. I have read that I post off a request showing proof that we have not used them, but it does not say where. Once I get more info (or someone else posts it) I'll update with details of what I did.

Bad news for you, sorry to hear that.

All I could find on NZIS website was an internal reference to policy as follows:

Quote:
R5.90.1 Refunds of migrant levy

If a migrant levy is paid but the principal applicant and partner and dependent children included in the application do not take up residence (or in the case of a person eligible to be issued and/or granted a visa and/or permit as a consequence of a decision under the Work to Residence (Skilled Migrant Category) Policy that work visa and/or permit is not issued or granted), a refund may be granted upon request to the NZIS. The request must be made in writing.
