|
|
I have Just spoken to the NZ immigration service in London who have told me that I may have to wait 6-9 weeks for my work visa to be processed. Assuming I turn up in person at the correct department with all the necessary forms, certificates, photos and rubber stamps how long will it realistically take? does anyone have any recent experience with this and are there any shortcuts or tips for speeding up the process. My new job has an open ended start date and someone has suggested getting my new employer to rejig the offer with an immediate start date or purchase my airline tickets so as to make my departure more urgent. I am slowly watching the NZ summer slide away through my internet browser........... any practical advice would be greatfully appreciated. |

Sorry, nothing I can do to help with your question, just curious as to which line of work you are in which got you an open ended job offer.
Is this something you wouldn't mind sharing please?
Thanks

| My son in law had a job offer and went to London with the relevant paperwork from the company he was to join and they stamped his work permit there and then. But.. he did have all the proper paperwork and a genuine job offer with a start date. So if its all legit it can be done. Veronica |

Thanks for your replies,
Alan, I work in a medical laboratory. Its not that the offer was open ended as such just that it was subject to gaining professional registration by the NZ powers that be, which has now been granted. Veronica thanks for your words, they have given me some optimism about my trip to the NZ embassy this week..... |
