I was thinking very hard about the possibility of moving down to NZ after I get my degree in Computer Information system. I have 10 years of computer related experence. Mostly all in the LAN/WAN trouble shooting side, and Customer service. I was wondering how hard would it be for me to find a job down in NZ?
Also what is the fastest and easiest way to obtain a work visa? I've read many people saying to get a 3 month holiday visa then locate a job offer then try and get a work visa. Other people state to try and get one first before coming over. |

Hi Gratto,
Whether an employer will recruit you unseen from overseas comes down to how desperate they are. Most employers prefer to see you in person, so in general, it's easier to get a job offer if you are in NZ than overseas. |

Hi,
The general feeling seems to be getting a working visa and then applying for residency. You seem to be in the same boat as me, 10 years experience, in the middle of a degree. Work experience in NZ also boosts your points on your application, so can only be a good way to go!
