At first.. your question is confusing based on the ff:

Holland is not a country.. ( you might be referring to the Neatherlands )

Zaire is non existing anymore.. its called Congo ( DROC )

hi arlevein, the question is definitely valid as stated.

ugh charlotte, you want a clue already. Eek i like to be a tease, so no big clues yet. Wink

actually, i'm surprised someone hasn't got it yet. looking at the poll about where everyone comes from, i'm sure some of you have the knowledge, you just need to think about it a bit more and maybe cast your mind back over the last 30 years or so, although not so much in recent years. Laughing

It's a long shot, and possibly difficult to squeeze Sweden in for my suggestions but how about

Apologies to the lady from Belgium who posts here occassionally

Does this one have anything to do with football/soccer? I know that the teams associated with these `countries' may have all lost in first round or failed to score a goal in the first round of world cup play...something like that ? Confused Confused Confused

okay, time to spill the beans. dctadpole got pretty close, but after that....... Laughing

the connection is that new zealand, zaire, sweden and holland are the only teams scotland have ever beaten in the world cup finals (soccer). Yes Mr. Green

Alright, so that is quite a stretch in my opinion - but I thought it had to
be something like that. A measure of how obscure the puzzle was, some
stupid yank is the closest to getting it correct. Nice One

obscure, yes, but i reckoned one of our scottish correspondents might have twigged it. of course with google around these days providing all the answers, you need to make on-line quizzes a touch on the obscure side. Yes

time to get my old thinking cap on and think up another fiendish puzzle connected (however thinly) with new zealand. Mr. Green
