i have completed BCS then M.Sc. Computer Sciecne. i m software developer here in Pakistan. my fiance is there in NZ. now she is sponsoring me. and my program is to move before Nov 2004 there in Auckland. i want to get a job there in IT sector as software developer or web developer. could any one plz guide me how can i find a job there in NZ before my arrival there in NZ.

I'm afraid the general view is that it is hard to get a job from abroad- once you arrive in November I suggest you start contacting agencies and employers - seems little point in doing this before you arrive - this is our own experience by the way;.

Hi,

this is how we WERE going to do it (our plans are slightly postponed ..)
.... send my husbands CV to various companies about 2-3 weeks prior to our arrival... and let them know he'd be available for interviews at such and such time ... then also contact various recruiting companies (honestly don't know at this point who is who ... do a google nz IT job search - and you'll find loads....) .... that was the plan ....
the above link might be of some use regarding IT companies .... the yellow pages of the city you're interested in would be invaluable probably as well ...
if you know what you want and you're willing to visualize it and stick with it - you should do just fine! that's where i 'failed' ... not knowing exactly want i want ....YET!! Shy
