Hi Again,
First of all thanks to Abdul for the answers.
Further inquiry. Can i get a 2 bedroom flat/ apartment in a decent place in Auckland for $175 - $225. Since I am planning to migrate to NZ very soon where do i initially go from the airport to find accomodation on a temporary basis ?.
I am not aware of different localities of Auckland but I would want some place near downtown. Of course living in downtown would be very expensive. !
I think any place from where i can find transport would do for me.
Thanks !! |

Hi Shehryar
I am sorry that I dont have much on the situation in AKL, as I am based in Christchurch.
However, try looking up http://www.nzherald.co.nz/property/rental/rentalsearch.cfm?classification=100
I think your best bet is to stay in a motel or a backpackers lodge and
seek a rental property.
Most property managers require 2 months rent as a bond and letting fee ( 1 week rent) and payment of 2 weeks of rent in advance. This raises the initial costs to hire costly. Expect to pay out about NZ$ 1200 to 2000, which all depends on the weekly rent fees.
Pick up a free Jasons Motel guide from the tourist information centre.
Also available at most motels. This guide has a comprehensive listing of motels with pictures and other types of accommodation.
You need to do a lot of homework before you fly into AKL, and there is so much of info available on the Internet.
Maybe someone in AKL who is a frequent visitor to this forum could help you out in providing more info
regards
