What is the antique market like in NZ? I'd be interested to know if it's something that's in demand or whether it is a relative unknown.
Are there many auctions and do they have such things as house clearances? |

Hi, Moorf,
I don't have first-hand experience, but my general impression from talking with various folks is that good antiques are in short supply in NZ. If you have them, take everything!
Also, my sis-in-law deals antiques in Germany.. she recently spent a month in NZ checking out the biz (in anticipation of a possible move which I am heartily encouraging!). She concluded that she could do very well, as there seems to be high demand and very few good pieces presently available. The difficulty is in getting the darned things over to NZ at a reasonable cost.
Hope this helps! - Rae |
