Hi

We are currently wading through all the paperwork to apply for a Long-term Business Visa. We're wondering whether anyone can advise us about using one of the established consultants to help in this fairly complex process?

We understand that some charge 50% up front and 50% on success - typically costs seem around £7k. Is it worth it? Will it speed up the process? (Does anyone know the current time for LTBV applications, by the way?)

So many questions! You can tell we're new at this.

Help gratefully received.

I personally would only advise getting help with the business plan, which won't come anywhere near £7K. The rest of the application is fairly straight forward, but use someone who is aware of the requirements for NZIS.

Can recommend Jamie Smith at www.businessplans.co.nz - only know through other forums (& a bit of baiting!) but he's good at what he does, & seems like a nice bloke..

NZ based agents are generally priced from NZ$7000 upwards, with Malcolm Pacific being very $$$$. Business plan is frequently additional to the processing, so remember to ask for clarification.

Also remember to ask the agent how many LTBVs they've had approved that were lodged after November 19 last year, as it's basically a whole new ball game now.

(PS Is this your other hidey hole Gra? (oops, Grey)

Kind regards

Yes, it's like having a shop, isn't it? It's all about being found and helping people find you ie word of mouth referral (works well for dating agencies too!)

Cheers

PS we had HAIL here in Auckland for 10 minutes - Summer! 20degrees C no less! Some hailstones were up to 1cm across

Used to be in the Cold War you could blame the Russians for tampering with the West's weather....
