Hi everyone, I 'm full of questions, so it will not be my last one. Is there anyone who failed to get a permit, and had to leave NZ? Does anyone know some facts? How many people try to live and work in NZ, how many of them try to get a permanent residence, and how many had to leave the country?
We don't have an idea what the chances are to succeed.
Thanks for replying. |

Hi lesly, the NZIS does publish this info on their website. They have tables showing the number of rejected applications in each category and they also do a split by the country the applicants come from. I did a quick search of their website and couldn't come up with it though . Maybe someone else will be more successful. Or maybe I'll have to spend a bit more time looking. |

Hi all
According to NZIS website 263 Belgians applied for NZ over last 12 months in all categories, with just 5 being declined (4 of these 5 were going for work permits but not sure if LTBV or job related)
So the odds are pretty good if you take your time, do some research and prepare the case well. |

Hi Jamie,
I 'm glad to hear that so many Belgians succeed. It gives us a lot of courage. We still consider sending an EOI, before we leave Belgium. But it would be one without a joboffer. We would have 105 points (not enough we guess). But again, we consider trying it anyway, you never know, with Belgians being that popular and all!!!! Ahum.(for the sake of clearness: that was a joke!!!)
You are absolutely right about the research though, there 's a lot of stuff to know in the jungle of NZ immigration !!!
Thanks again, Jamie.
Regards Lesly. |

Hi Lesly
You might be interested in reading the articles posted by Residence Review Board. http://www.residencereviewboard.govt.nz/
Click on the appropriate link to read cases that were reviewed
example: general skills, humanitarian,family etc
The articles are sometimes old ( early 2003), but gives you an idea of the decisions made and people who made it didnt make it.
As you will be aware, the general skills category is no longer available.
Happy reading
