Are NVQ'S recognized in NZ ?

Hello
Can anyone tell me if they have been applied for residency and or work permits/visas using an NVQ as their trade qualification? Hubby has 6 yrs experiance but no formal qualification however an NVQ assessor is prepared to come and assess him and look at all paperwork so he can get his experiance on paper ! But I was wondering if anyone has any experiance of NZIS and NVQ'S I know we will probably have to get it assessed by NZQA,over here they say it is better than City & Guilds because you have proof that you CAN do the job,and don't just know how to do it in theory,however NZIS seem to only recognize City & Guilds Confused

. He is a Diesel Fitter if that helps anyone,so it is on the POL

Just a follow up to say we've had a pre assessment thing done on his NVQ Level 3 and it has come back as a Level 4 (Great news! I'm beaming! cool

)

everything else follows suit! Also for those interested we submitted it online Sunday night and got it back this morning!
(2 1/2 days Wow! You don't get that in Blighty unless the tax man wants you! Nice One

What was your level 3 in which was assessed as 4?

My mum has a level 3 and we heard you couldn't get point unless you had a level 4 so this would be great news for my parents as it means they would get an extra 10 points for my mums qualifications.
