The best picnic you have ever been too will be held at
Pines Beach Reserve Saturday 13th Nov 2004
11 am - 4 ish
(Venue change due to club cricket at Avondale park, and a few people live near Pines Beach)
I have booked the park for anyone to join us - family, friends, workmates....the more the merrier. 
We will have a 'feed', followed by swimming (there is a free toddler pool if it is hot,) cricket/soccer match, basketball, BMX track (bring the kids bikes) a skate board ramp thing, (bring skate boards) but no tennis I am afraid.
It is a 5 min walk to the beach so we will have a sweetie scramble there or slide down the huge dunes..great fun if you have teenagers.
At 2 pm I have booked carrots and pickles a Canadian clown act who are really funny....well I think so...who will also bring a big parachute for everyone to play with...cant decribe it! and then they will do a show..so bring a chair.
WHAT TO BRING:
Your own lunch and drink. There will be a BBQ (we will bring one with us as none at the park) so if you would like to use it you are more than welcome.
If not bring a cut lunch for your own family.
If everyone could bring 2 packets of biscuits to share (I will put this on platters..for later...with the 'welcome to NZ" cake!! ) and a packet of lollies..sweeties..candy!
For the lollie/sweetie/candy scramble.
There is a shop opposite the park for ice creams/pies etc..so bring some $$ if you dont want your kids whinging about everyone elses ice creams!!!
I will bring this thread up every few weeks for those who are new..to see it.
If you would like to come email me so that if for some reason the weather should be foul, I can email you and keep you updated (there is a hall there..so we could still use that and have the show there...and make a fire and cook some snags on it...in the snow!)
Bring a hat and sunscreen even if it is cloudy and swimming stuff if you so desire....  because it will be the best weather ever! 
shorts and t shirt are fine...and a surf board..the beach is awesome!!!
Have a safe trip those who are arriving soon...and see the rest of you there!!!

I hope people make the effort...it will be a great day if they do. Tara...you are just down the road..so we will come and hunt you down if you dont show up!!! 
It is a pleasure to sort out...you guys have enough to do without sorting out a get together....Any birthdays in Nov have to blow out candles on the cake too...see you dont even have to sort your own birthday party OR cake..it is all done!!!

Hmm speedos - same as those little pink lycra numbers popular with well-endowed Italians?? Nah, I have no idea WHAT you mean!!
Socks with sandals ok?!! 
Hmm birthdays - it is Warren's bday on 11th Nov  and our wedding anniversary on 27th (5 yrs!).
Man you are gonna be INUNDATED with Galaxy... (hint hint everyone!). |

Mmmmmmmm GALAXY.....
Take one slightly under-ripe Banana and split the skin longways with one cut from tp to bottom. Break GALAXY into chucks or even better grate it. Ease the skin away from the banana carefully and insert pieces of GALAXY behind the skin. Double wrap banana tightly in Al'y Foil. BBQ for 1-2 mins each side.
Have nose ready for the unwrapping ceremony and inhale as the melted chocolate suffused with the aroma of banana ingites your senses...wash down with liberal amounts of your fave cocktail!....or beer!!!!!

You could try Karls idea with the banana and galaxy woz....on the BBQ!! that would be a laugh.(mmm, I can smell burning flesh)
Anyway...this was suppose to be just one announcement type thing that could be pulled up every now and again..without scrolling through 3 pages of smutt!!!!!

I am sooo glad you might be here Rae. It will be great to finally meet you (you seem very wise in your posts) ...
 and to at least be at a BBQ here in NZ, and not talking about "going to NZ one day" all you lot will have achieved it!!! yay for you!!!
someone needs to bring a banana cake...as our little enz forum secret!!!
