Good luck Moorf

I like your prediction. I never thought it would be 105, so I never filled in the EOI. I was thinking of waiting till the next one!

Doh!!!

Is it something I can do in one evening, because I will have 105?

cheers

alex

Alex - I don't see any reason why you couldn't fill in the online EOI in one evening - took hubby and I a couple of hours interspersed with lots of to-ing and fro-ing from the NZIS site!!

Go for it... you'll be in the Pool for 3 months too if it doesn't get to 105 this time round.

Just thinking aloud - if they would drop the points to 105 then surely they would go to 100 (?) to "clear out" the current pool of people?

hi,
i agree with moorf, it's gotta be 110 this time and 100 next, because that would take it right up to sept 3 when they will have to start losing people from the pool, they might even change their minds again though and extend it, but that would be a pain for everyone.... thinking about it what's that programme on tvnz 1 "fair go" , well i hope the nzis is watching it tonight and decides to give us all a bloody fair go after all this time!!!!!
(there, got that off my chest)
cheers

I'd be surprised to see it rise, as it seems to have been falling since april. Dunno just how low it'll go though, I guess it all depends on the numbers of people they want to let in for the year. Perhaps 110 or 105 ?? If pushed I'd say 110.

Last time they selected 1049 applications, from what I can make out there were around 250 EOI's that failed last time with 110, and 300+ that failed with 105. I suppose it all depends how many people have lodged EOI's since that date with scores above 110, if it's a lot then the pass mark may not move, or may even move higher.

I wasn't going to apply for PR until next early year, but I put an EOI (125pts) in last week, due to the current lowish points required. I didn't want to get into a situation where I'd have to wait until this time next year, before moving the process forward. Better to early than late is what I decided.

I'm pretty hopeful that I'll get selected this week.

Good luck to everyone else

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what is the relevance of the Sept 3rd deadline,a nd why would they start losing people from the pool. If people stay in the pool for 3 months, does this mean everyone joined the pool at the start of June ?

dude,
originally ( and it seems like a bloody long time ago now!!!) people who applied using the new eoi when it first appeared in about feb. this year were given a three month period, which then changed to a six month period, which ends on sept 3 this year. if you're not selected whilst in the pool for this time you get bumped out of the pool, and then have to re-apply. who's going to re-apply with say 100 points when the selection mark is unknown and you need to fork out another £100 or so???
i know i'm not, fair enough if it does reach 100 in the future ,then you could re-apply but that would make the pool look really small and a totally distorted outlook for the nzis. so don't worry you're not the only one confused .
now i'm off for a swim in a pool somewhere

I finished the EOI about 10:05 NZ time. I probably wasted $315, coz I submitted it anyway. If its too late, then maybe I am first in the queue next time Wink

Good luck all

alex
