I have not really looked hard into prams, but did note that prices seemed very reasonable. It is easier to get the high end ones though as kiwi mums seem to prefer the 3 wheel strollers suitable for joging.
Your UK car seats will fit fine and are worth bringing on the plane. You have to have all under 5s in a car seat here so don't put them on the container if your kids are less than 5. We took one in the cabin (a blessing as it kept the 2yo trapped and a curse when trying to get in and out) and two in the hold (just wrap them in bubble wrap and attach a label to the armstrap.
If you do not already have a car seat or pram, they are not so pricey here as to make the hassle of bringing one worthwhile.
Childrens clothing is more expensive relatively here than in the UK. In part this is due to GST being levied whereas VAT is not and in part there is a lack of high quality bulk sales at low prices. I have yet to find an equivalent of the various discount sports warehouses and miss the Next sale. |
