hello rodders
For me I don't really think Dunedin was an active choice. I was offered a job there ( won't get rich) but every thing else that mattered seem to fit nicely. Understand? I'm not ambitious or a " high flyer" only things that matter are health and happiness right? The whole immigration process can leave a person feeling quite drained. It was only this monday that visa officer rang to say that application for residency visa has been " approved in principle" and could I send another £420. hopefully things will work out for me and my family + cat. wish me luck

Guilty!!
But have really benefitted from info which is posted and as we have now submitted our EOI on 15.7.04 with 160 points and were pulled from the next draw on 21.7.04, will be adding our experience of the process to the forum.
We aim to be in the West Harbour area of Auckland in January, where I will take up my permanent job offer as Staff Nurse with ADHB, and my husband will be a bit of a house hubby while our 10 year old son settles in to school etc.
It's an exciting time - house is put on the market tomorrow - better get tidying up.
No more lurking - promise |

Hi Jens et al
Re investor category; Jamie Smith is an immigration consultant who contributes regularly to this forum. His speciality is Long Term Business Visa's but I am sure his knowledge spills over into the investor route as well. You may want to PM him (sorry for fingering you Jamie) I am sure he wpuld be more than hapy to point you in the right direction! Jamie is moving to Australia soon so he is a bit busy to say the least but he is a very reliable and helpful chap!

Hi Karl
thank you very much for your reply, much appreciated.
I will try to get in touch with Jamie as well. Nick H was kind enough to contact me too, so I am convinced that we can shed some light into this category.
Cheers

Hi All...especially you "Lurkers"!
Pahleeze don't be shy! This is NOT a club or an elite bunch of NZ know-it-all's...really! We're all in various stages of an admitted infatuation with Godzone, and we LOVE to hear from everyone. Are you just thinking about immigrating? Great! Tell us your story! Are you in NZ and have been for decades? Lucky you...we think...and we'd really like to hear from you as well. Going through the amazingly easy legal process to get here? (Notice the sarcastic tone in my voice?) Let's hear what you're going through...there's a good bet that someone else on the forum can readily identify with your frustration or (just maybe) jubilation!
Just because some of us run off at the keyboard doesn't mean we don't want to hear from everyone...we always need new blood! Everyone here...with the possible exception of JCM ...were "newbies" once. So take the leap and let us know a little about you and your dreams.
And of course...don't be afraid to overuse all of the cool emoticons! |

Hi Indiana
And welcome! And above all...congratulations!! It's only a matter of time now. Hang in there. The roller coaster ride isn't over yet, but you're in the home stretch.
Great to hear from you. Tell us a little more when you have time...where are you from, where do you want to be, yadda, yadda. We'll look forward to hearing more! |

Hi
As someone previously said the reason I haven't posted much is because I'm not planning to go to NZ till at least September next year, so it all seems a while away yet. Sometimes I also don't feel very confident posting on threads with all the regulars, who all know each other... you know what I mean.
Anyway this forum has been sooooo helpful with questions I have. I suppose I should give a bit of background about myself...
Went to NZ for 4 weeks when I was 14 and fell in love with it! Got a degree, met my hubby-to-be (getting married Feb 05), he has the IT degree & skills which will hopefully get us some form of residency in NZ! Luckily he loves NZ too... we're waiting till next year to go so we can save enough money and go there on a working holiday permit first of all.
So that's my background! Really should've introduced myself earlier... sorry |

Hiya Bexxx
We started all this a year ago too... can't believe we're at this point now - all went so quickly!
You're doing it right - getting yourselves sorted etc.... and if I had found this site a year ago I am sure I'd be more sorted than we actually are!! I've learnt so much from these mad people!!
CONGRATS - you're getting wed too - what a year you will have !!
All the best
