Hi all,
Can anybody tell us how expensive carpets are in NZ?
Is it worth bringing them with us? What about the underlay also? |

ON a slightly different note, regarding carpet. Considering that there is so much moisture and mold is a problem, Is it better to just have hard wood floors.
I noticed on another post that Karl was complaining that the vacuum bag had an unusal amount of moisture in it.
Of coarse though hard wood floors can be a bit chilly. |

Carpets here in NZ are normally left in the house for the next owner, you will more than likely find carpets in the house which you buy. There is very little problem with mould. I have always lived in Auckland since I have been here, polished wood floors have come into fashion lately, mostly because of DIY programmes on TV. carpet costs around 80-100 Dollars per metre, off the roll 4 metres wide. Then there is an installation cost. Another thing you will find is that drapes and a stove will be left behind, so that even if you dont like them at least you have something to start you up. All the best
