Sadie,
Yes, I know what you mean - not fussed at all about this selling malarkey. However, there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow... Can't wait to book the flights!

This is indeed speedy! I hope it works out as smoothly for us. When we handed our app in they said we had to pay there and then + they wouldn't consider the app until they'd received payment.
Good luck with the house sale..

| Just to clarify, yes you can have an onward ticket to Oz, and you do need a visa, but you can get that very simply online, you don't have to send your passport away and it costs about GBP40. The alternative for use, becuase like you we bought one way tickets - and hopefully unlike you! - ran out of time to get our visas processed - was to cancel our tickets, and repurchase RTN tickets at a fairly hefty cost, thanks to the airlines crappy returns policy - it would have cost us at least 700GBP to change them. In the event, we turned up with one way tickets, and got our visitors visa at immigration without having to show our onward tickets - I think the guy knew exactly what we were up to! |

I think they did the same for my partner's application where payment of the fee is concerned. He dropped it in Day 1 and his bank account was debited Day 2 - no mucking around!
The lady who received his application at NZ House on 21 July said that they were all up-to-date with family residency applications and that his would be processed within 2 months. Going the way they are currently, it won't even take 1 month, so I'm pretty sure you'll be fine too.
Re the house sale - we started taking views last Tuesday and had an offer on Saturday. Just playing the game of bluff re the price and fingers crossed it goes all the way to completion and handing over the keys. Sometimes, we think it is going all too smoothly... |
