Hi,

My son currently goes to a church school here in the UK. We are not deeply religious but do want to bring our son up believing in God so he is able to make an informed decision when older. The church school also has the added advantage that discipline and old fashioned beliefs about right and wrong are still, to an extent, practised.

Does anyone know what the Catholic primary schools (he is 10) are like on the west side of Christchurch? If we get to make the move fingers crossed we are hoping to settle in Rolleston so the school would need to be relatively close to there. I believe that the zones don't apply as much for church schools, is this the case?

On another note has anyone got experience of Lincoln High? What about Rolleston primary?

Thanks!!

Mark. Smile

Hi ,
Our 8 year old daughter went to a catholic primary school in Queenstown . We are not catholics , but it was much more in keeping with a small church school in UK.

The school had a fantastic atmostphere , kids were all really well behaved , and the staff were great. They made a big effort to include us in the school.
Our daughter was able to go on overnight camps to Glenorchy and Arrowtown which she loved.

I'm not sure about catholic schools around Christchurch , but there was a magazine article (North and South) recently about how they are becoming a lot more popular all over the country.

The ERO website gives reports on all schools including catholic schools , so might be a good place to look
