Has anybody any info on the citizenship rule changes? 
I have a permanent job offer for ADHB as a staff nurse, and we are applying under the SMC catagory. 
My husband is a police officer, and can only apply once we are in NZ. The rules as he understands it is that if succesful, he would need to secure citizenship in 3 years and 5 months after arriving in NZ.
The new rules state that if you arrive after 01 Jan 05, you must wait 5 years before applying for and gaining citizenship. 
So...... he will not be able to satisify the rule of gaining citizenship after 3 years, unless we arrive before 31.12.04 , and of course we have promised our 10 year old and family here that we will be here for christmas  - unless we leave UK after the festivities. 
Does anyone have any advice?  |
