I am in the process of cleaning all garage items ready for the packers
My husband is taking all of his work tools with him as he will continue his fencing business in NZ. The problem I have is alot of his tools are kind of rust coloured. They are perfectly clean (power washed and disinfected) but because they are metal they are a kind of brown colour. I was thinking about wiping over them with a very light oiled rag to help protect them from the extreme temperatures of the journey in the container.
Do you think this will cause any problems????
The rag also makes them look much cleaner.
I would be grateful for any advice.
Cheers

Spray with WD40 penetrating oil, available from any car parts shop! Allow all the solvent to evaporate (very important!) about and hour will do. Pack tools in box, job done. You can also wrap them in vapour check paper, an oil impregnated paper that gaurds against water/condensation. All my tools arrived fine and I used the WD40 technique!

Hi My hubby a carpenter and oh so many tools, it took ages to clean them all!
As Karl said we wiped then down with a rag sparyed with WD40 after cleaning them
It took forever, but hopefully when our container arrives there won't be any hassles.
We bought some tools with us on the plane as hubby had to start work, they weren't even checked.
Good Luck with the rest of the packing
