I have seen frequent questions about where to get the best deal or the best service, and these are excellent questions as price and service vary greatly. Answers are generally excellent but anecdotal.

If yo are emigrating and want to do your research, a great "one-stop" source is the Consumer Online website www.consumer.org.nz They survey everything from toasters to health insurance and their reports, whike sometimes a little lacking in editorial detail, offer excellent comparison charts. Importanly they survey service, as well as cost.

If I were emigrating again, I would not hesitate to hand over the $68 per year or $21 per quarter to have access to the reports, and importantly their archives. When you are investing so much in the first few months you cannot fail to save many times that much - you'll get it back in the first few months of bank charges alone if you follow their advice. More importantly, may end up usuing service providers who actually provide service!!

Of course if you don't fancy making the investment, your local library (in NZ) is almost certain to have at least a year of back copies of their magazine, but for research the website is much easier.

THere's my advice for the day - now can someone advise me on where I can learn to type properly

Gerry

Gerry,

Thanks for the website! Nice One It's a great resource for sure. I've never gone wrong buying "recommended" products from the Consumers Union (Consumer Reports Magazine/Annual Buying Guide) here...they do an excellent job.

For about $43 USD you can't go wrong! Yes
