OH no I have been dreading this. I parctically live at Loews, I think I spent $10k there over the last two years.
I have a home depot and two Lowes stores within a ten minute drive(including los angeles traffic)
I guess you have to make sacrifices. I better become more efficient, I was at loews three times on saturday, getting parts to wrap up a kitchen counter remodel. |

Hi down here in Christchurch there are two massive DIY places. one called Bunnings which both Pete and I are convinced is a B & Q warehouse in disguise and another one, not so extensive but a bit more trade orientated called Place makers.(our favorite). Prices are a bit hard for us to judge because Pete has had most of his tools for a few years now but we have seen nothing thats made us fall over, timber is cheaper though.
I've said before in this forum itrs worth bringing anything that you already own that is in good codition and suitable to use here. The costs of the silly bits and pieces you have to buy soon mounts up.
If you are planning to bring any tools over from the UK though the MAF will want to inspect them, so they must be spotlessly clean, especially woodworking or garden tools. |
